Live in the District

If you reside within the Village of Morton limits, you are in the MPL District and you’ve already paid for your library card through property taxes, either as a homeowner or a renter.

Not sure if you live within the district? Homeowners can check their property tax bills for a Morton Public Library line item. Or, send us an email using the button below and we can check for you.

Document

When you come into the library, show us who you are and where you live. If your state-issued photo ID shows your current address that is all you need! Otherwise, bring in a valid photo ID (this shows who you are) and a printed or digital bank statement, apartment lease, utility bill, etc. (to show us where you live).

Each member of your household may receive a card; those under the age of 14 must have permission of a parent or legal guardian. Cards are valid for three years.

Use Your Card

Use your library card to check out items, access our online resources, use our eLibraries, and place holds on items from MLP or other area libraries.

  • Most items check out for 3 weeks
  • Items may be renewed if there are no holds
  • Overdue fines are 10 cents a day, per item
  • Use the RSAcat app to manage your account, search the catalog, place holds, renew items, keep reading lists and more.
