art display

Local figurative artist Bill Crowell currently has art on display in the Morton Library’s Reuling Room through December 2024. The show is open during regular library hours when the meeting room is not in use. Crowell enjoys painting a variety of different subjects, from portrait to landscapes.

Crowell moved to Morton in May 2023 from New Orleans, LA, where he had spent his professional life.

While in New Orleans, Crowell was represented by Gallery 600 Julia. In addition to many private collections, his work is included in the collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Museum and Chervron Northshore.  Learn more about Bill’s work on his website.

The aim of the Morton Library gallery space is to create space where artists and patrons are welcome to connect, to provide career development opportunities for artists by providing gallery space to display their work and to offer an inclusive, all ages’ art experience for patrons of Morton Library. The gallery space is located in the Reuling room at the front of the library and was made possible by a grant from the Morton Community Foundation in the spring of 2022.
