Book Donation Guidelines

Please call the library before bringing in donations. After talking to someone at the library, please bring items to the front desk. Do not place donations in the outside or inside book returns. Donations should be in clean and good condition. Due to limited space, please see the list below of items we do and do not accept.

We welcome the following gently used materials to be put into our ongoing book sale:

  • Fiction books - publication date 10 years or newer

  • Nonfiction books - publication date 5 years old or newer

  • Movies on DVD or Blu-Ray

  • Children’s books

  • Puzzles (no missing pieces) adult and children

Due to limited storage space, we can not accept the following items:

  • Older books

  • VHS or cassette tapes

  • Encyclopedias or sets of old publication collections such as National Geographic

  • Textbooks

  • Magazines

  • Audio or music CD

A donation to a public library is tax deductible. If you need a receipt for tax purposes, the library will provide one. Please count how many paperbacks, hardbacks, DVDs and puzzles are being donated. We do not assign a dollar value to your donation.

All donations are greatly appreciated! And, all proceeds from our book sale benefit the library.
